What the Via Corso is to Rome and the Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honore is to Paris is what 5th Avenue South is to Naples. Tree-lined sidewalks carry shoppers past many of Naples’ most prestigious boutiques and fine shops. Strollers have 12 blocks and 50 buildings to peruse as they walk, and since shopping is hard work, 5th Avenue South is liberally dotted with noteworthy restaurants and stimulating art galleries. 5th Avenue South is also the primary venue for periodic street art festivals with artists presented their works under white canopies from one end of the avenue to the other. In the evenings, café life spills out onto the sidewalk for dining and sipping al fresco.
